Full Job Description
Description:The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for enhancing producibility, product quality, and process optimization across various engineering disciplines, including failure analysis, industrial, manufacturing, process improvement, quality assurance, reliability, supplier quality, Lean Six Sigma, and tooling. This role will drive initiatives to improve production operations, streamline processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to align with long-term business strategies.
What You Will Be Doing:
Lean Techniques and Process Improvement:
Apply Lean Six Sigma (LSS) techniques to improve production performance and operational efficiency.
Participate in and co-facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and drive cultural changes that align with business strategies.
Operational Analysis and Efficiency:
Analyze sequence of operations and workflow to optimize plant production, administrative processes, and facility/equipment layouts.
Establish methods to maximize the utilization of production facilities, equipment, and personnel.
Cost and Process Optimization:
Conduct studies on cost control, cost reduction, inventory management, engineering time studies, and process cycle times.
Develop and implement plans for process modifications and facility revisions based on study findings.
Facility and Equipment Planning:
Assist in the planning, design, modification, and layout of facilities and equipment in collaboration with facilities engineers.
Establish or support the development of mistake-proofing techniques to enhance process reliability.
Training and Facilitation:
Provide continuous improvement training to team members at all levels within production operations.
Facilitate mechanic-led problem-solving teams using A3 methodology.
Lead and facilitate multi-day Kaizen events, guiding cross-functional teams to improve complex processes.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Analyze data to identify trends, enabling informed decision-making in problem-solving initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review metrics, identify challenges, and implement actionable solutions.
Coaching and Leadership Development:
Coach team members and leaders on problem-solving best practices and continuous improvement methodologies to foster a high-performance culture.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college
Experience with Data analysis software (MS excel, Minitab, Tableau, Matlab, etc...)
Desired Skills:
LSS Green Belt certification
LSS Black Belt certification
Project Manager certification
5+ years of Experience with Data analysis software (MS excel, Minitab, Tableau, Matlab, etc...)
Masters Degree
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
