Overview

The Electrical Design Engineer will research, develop, design, and work with the team to enable the company’s products to be the best or among the best available with cutting-edge technology in the global market. Perform design, testing, and manufacturing duties in making customers’ products. Coordinate and liaise with suppliers and customer project groups to design and build prototypes. The work is in a fast paced, high growth environment, with complex and industry-leading technologies. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to work effectively with management, suppliers, and customers. The candidate must possess the ability to collaborate with others and lead technical discussions as subject matter expert concerning projects and/or schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes customer and system requirements to develop basic control system architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic control platforms.
  • Develops high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.
  • Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis with emphasis on Power Supplies, High/Low Power Distribution Circuits, Analog, and Digital Circuit Designs.
  • Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet evolving requirements.
  • The ability to work within a team environment with minimal supervision and to carry this work ethic forward with applicable Client, Company, and Industry standards.
  • The proven ability in the preparation of design and detail electrical drawings from sketches, plans, or other design criteria. Ability to take on responsibility for the detailed design and drafting of industrial control panels with subsequent power distribution, loop diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Participate in design reviews with other disciplines involved and to advise on technical design issues and compliance requirements as deemed appropriate.
  • Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project, etc. UL, NFPA, NEC, CE, TUV, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2+ years of relevant design experience or 1-3 years of relevant experience with Masters Degree.
  • Proficient in the use of computer aided design software and must understand CAD/BIM operations.
  • Experience with industry standard software including Microsoft products, AGi32, EnergyPro. Etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices relating to appropriate discipline, including both design and construction methods.
  • Experience from device level through finished deliverable product
  • Experience with electrical circuit design and electrical schematic analysis.
  • Hands-on lab experience with power/analog electronics testing or test methodology.
  • Be proficient in electrical CAD software, E-plan is preferred.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $90,000-110,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits such as paid time off, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits and flexible spending accounts.
