The Engineering Project Leader, Cost Savings/VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) is in charge of reaching the financial goals set by the segment leadership team for product categories made for and by the nVent HOFFMAN segment. This position will lead the segment to identify and align with the business team to begin projects, manage project portfolios, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects and achieve VAVE targets.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Attain savings targets as determined by Hoffman leadership, and monitored in the Corporate Project and KPI Tracker
Lead quarterly ideation sessions (internal and external) to maintain full funnel value as set by Hoffman Leadership
Develop and submit new VAVE projects for review and approval through the 3D process/guidelines
Lead Network Planning Sessions to collaboratively develop project timelines
Develop requirements and project plans with data driven deliverables and hold team to meet these plans
Review and provide feedback on engineering design with Engineers at suppliers or plants
Lead cross-functional team at factories and segment offices to drive alignment and successful project outcome of all efficiency projects assigned
Collaborate with distributed team members on development and execution of VAVE projects and ideas
Manage project scope alignment, adherence, and changes to ensure successful project delivery
Motivate and monitor project team members and contractors while influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Ideally 10+ years of related experience of which 5+ years in a cost savings role; PMP Certification is preferred
Previous experience in Sheet Metal manufacturing, plastics molding, metal forming, or product assembly is required
Commercial and industrial products industry experience is preferred
Experience leading complex projects and high levels of capital spend
Ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments and influence decisions
Logical and creative problem-solving and analytical skills required
Proficient in tools such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, Project Online and SharePoint
Highly effective organization and planning skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills are required

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
