Mattingly Edge is a progressive provider of individualized, customized, and fully-inclusive supports designed to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities thrive at work, at home, and in relationships. We are seeking an innovative Executive Director with strong leadership characteristics and experience providing high-quality support services.

Position Summary

The Executive Director articulates the vision, mission, theory of change, statement of need, unique value proposition, and overall strategy and direction of the organization. This leader builds alignment across the organization, while emitting hope, optimism, and a bold vision both internally and in the community.

The Executive Director ensures that all policies and procedures show respect and equity to all employees, people we support, and their allies. In keeping with our mission, will apply routine diligence to root out oppressive and biased patterns of thought and behavior within the organization.

Essential Functions

This role is successfully accomplished when balancing the following priorities:

Planning, organization and directing the organization's operations.

Provide leadership to and manage the efforts of site staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments.

Ensures that programs and activities of the organization are of excellent quality and aligned with our mission. Uses outcome data to support decisions.

Maintains safety and compliance program that ensures we meet or exceed all laws and regulations. Implements best practices in IDD/DD services.

Monitors effectiveness of hardware and software needed for fundraising, collaboration, document creation and storage, communication, productivity and recordkeeping.

Supervises collaborative tasks and projects.

Human Resources

Retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and supports them by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development.

Ensures safe working conditions for all employees.

Ensures that recruiting, hiring, onboarding, retention, management and development of staff is sufficient to meet the needs of our organization.

Fosters respect and equity to all employees, people we support, and their allies. Root out oppressive and biased patterns of thought and behavior within the organization.

Manages a plan to identify and develop future leaders in the organization.

Financial Management

Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.

Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.

Coordinates and leads annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates.

Works with the Board and development staff to create the conditions for fundraising success.

Creates and adheres to internal financial controls.

Monitors expenditures.

Community Relations

Articulates the vision, mission, theory of change, statement of need, unique value proposition, and overall strategy and direction of the organization.

Develops and maintains strong relationships with the IDD sector, city and state entities, peers, donors, funders, industry associations, media, etc.

Collaborates with other organizations to meet our goals.

Communicates and engages with the public regularly on behalf of our organization.

Bolsters the organization's reputation for quality, equity, transparency, and efficiency.

Board Development

Supports the board in their operations, including administrative, planning and information dissemination.

Builds alignment while maintaining role clarity between the board, its chair, and the ED.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education: Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited institution OR certification as a registered nurse

2. Experience: Have at least two years' administrative experience in an organization that served individuals with an IDD with proven experience in overseeing the overall administration of an agency, including:

Budget Management: Developing, implementing, and maintaining the agency's budget.
Policy Oversight: Creating, reviewing, implementing, and revising organizational policies and procedures as needed.
Employee Supervision: Managing staff performance, including conducting performance evaluations.

3. Organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

4. Exemplary communication skills and attention to detail. Basic language, written, and computer (Word, Excel, internet, Google apps) skills necessary for communication and documentation.

5. Passion for the full inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community.
