Report Developer- Servicenow Asset Management & CMDB
Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm, and our Staffing practice is looking for a Report Developer with experience working within a Financial Institution, to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast paced and high performing team.
Client: Big Five Bank
Length of Contract: 6 months, with possibility to extend
Working Location: Hybrid, 1 day a week, downtown Toronto.
Rate: $45-55/Hr T4
Job Description
The Report Developer is responsible for reporting, analytics, and data automation related to ServiceNow Asset Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) environments. The role develops actionable reports, dashboards, and automated data workflows to improve asset visibility, CMDB accuracy, operational insights, and decision-making. This position requires strong experience in Power BI, Alteryx, SQL and PowerShell, along with a solid understanding of IT Asset Management (ITAM), CMDB data structures, and enterprise reporting practices.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Dashboard Development
• Design, develop, and maintain operational and executive reporting related to ServiceNow Asset Management, CMDB, and IT infrastructure data.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide meaningful insights into asset lifecycle, inventory, compliance, software and hardware trends, and CMDB health.
• Translate complex technical data into user-friendly visualizations and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Data Automation, Scripting & Analysis
• Develop and optimize Alteryx workflows for data preparation, cleansing, transformation, and automation.
• Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate data extraction, integration, validation, and reporting tasks.
• Extract, analyze, and validate data from ServiceNow, including asset, configuration item (CI), discovery, and CMDB datasets.
• Perform data quality analysis and identify discrepancies in CMDB and asset data to improve data integrity.
Collaboration, Documentation & Support
• Partner with IT Asset Management, Configuration Management, Infrastructure, and ServiceNow teams to design reporting requirements.
• Document reporting logic, data sources, workflows, and technical processes.
• Support ad hoc reporting requests, audits, and operational analysis.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, or business intelligence development.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, and visualization.
• Hands-on experience with Alteryx for workflow development and automation.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting and Microsoft SQL.
• Experience working with ServiceNow, particularly IT Asset Management (ITAM) and CMDB / Configuration Management.
• Strong understanding of relational data models and data transformation.
• Experience querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
