We're looking for a Senior Apparel Product Developer with expertise in project management, construction, textiles, trims, and graphics to be part of our client’s Apparel creative team. A key part of this role is understanding the full scope of product creation from design concept to production. This will be a 6-month onsite engagement in Beaverton, OR.
Responsibilities
- Create and update development documentation for our client’s factory partners including Bill of Materials.
- Collaborate with Design, Technical Design, Product Management, Materials, Quality, Color, and client’s factory partners to effectively execute product development deliverables.
- Participate in proto-review sessions and comment on the quality, craftsmanship, and manufacturing feasibility of your assigned styles.
- Raise awareness of potential quality or manufacturing risks and partner with your triad and Product Integrity team to find a resolution.
- Track prototypes for your styles, meet your calendar target dates, attend meetings that relate to your product's development and communicate progress and challenges to your team as needed.
Requirements and Background
- Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, textile science or related field.
- Two years of additional product creation experience may be considered instead of a degree.
- Minimum 5 years of development experience in the apparel industry, which includes the apparel development process from inception through production including construction, materials, costing, manufacturing, and quality.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
- Experience interpreting design intent and offering alternative solutions.
- Understanding of product specs and construction standards instructions.
- Experience working with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, and familiarity with CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) are highly desired.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $32.40 to 36.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
