Summary: The Senior Manager Electrical Engineering & Automation Control Systems will provide leadership, strategic vision, and technical oversight for Advanced Engineering electrical controls systems. Manage, guide, and prioritize projects, ensuring the overall system design, implementation, and deliverables align with business objectives. Lead specification of electrical control system design and technology hardware and software platforms including PC based, PLC based, vision systems, and robotics solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide project management, technical guidance, and overall leadership of Advanced Engineering electrical controls engineering team in the development, and implementation of control system solutions. Develop, train, and support engineers by offering technical advice and mentorship to encourage collaboration and enhance problem-solving abilities.
- Lead regular review meetings with key stakeholders, establishing and adhering to allocated budget, critical path and project deliverables.
- Design electrical power and control systems for new equipment, upgrades, and/or improvements. Coordinate with designers or self-generate prints for vendor and customer approvals, following Acushnet standards. Inclusive of network connectivity for data collection, sub-system communication and human interfaces. Proactively generate concepts and solutions supporting Acushnet business and operational objective.
- Drive continuous improvement by staying informed about new materials, techniques, and product knowledge to consistently enhance designs and provide recommendations for future projects that align with organizational goals. Establish and maintain controls technology standardization.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering or applicable area of study. Master’s degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering and Programming Logic Controls (PLC) required, ideally in high-speed automation of consumer product manufacturing.
- Proven track record with demonstrated success in directly managing and developing engineering teams. A minimum of 2 years of which must be in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Ability to work in a team environment often leading and advising relevant stakeholder groups within a cross-functional framework. Demonstrated design of automated and custom machinery for the manufacture of products, golf ball experience preferred. Understanding of electro-mechanical machinery and systems. Demonstrated experience in industry standard documentation practices. Experience with standard computer communication protocols and database management methods.
- Must be able to work at a computer/keyboard for extended periods. Must be able to work at remote locations on the factory floor for extended periods. Must be able to manipulate general shop tools and test equipment. Expected presence at on-site and off-site program development, debug, and qualification testing.
- Must be fluent in multiple PLC languages including State, Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block, and Direct Sequential Programming. Demonstrated experience working with VB, Python, C+, C*, Javascript, SCADA software (Wonderware, Indusoft, Ignition, or equivalent), AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent, and vision applications (Cognex, Keyence, OpenCV or equivalent).
Salary: $132,400-$168,900
