The Front Office Solutions team provides market-leading solutions for Portfolio Managers and Traders that span the Portfolio Lifecycle. Our products, Portfolio Management Platform (PMP), FactSet OMS, Portware/FactSet EMS, and Analytics APIs, can be integrated or used individually with other products that clients are using. From analysis through execution, we build solutions that power the front-office.
The Trading Solutions - Engineering team is modernizing the front end and back-end infrastructure of our Portware Enterprise trading platform while simultaneously integrating FactSet’s best of breed product suites to empower client workflows. We are currently seeking a ‘Software Engineer’ to be part of our team responsible for building web apps and backend APIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze user requirements & participate in multiple software development processes including Coding, Testing, and De-bugging & Documentation
Adopt test driven development methodologies and write automated unit and integration tests
Work in agile team environment and ability to communicate and collaborate with Product Developers, Direct Manager and Engineering peers.
Contribute to ensuring high-quality product delivery by performing code reviews and integration testing
Minimum Requirements:
2-3 years of experience in web development with a strong emphasis on Vue.js or React.js or Angular.js and TypeScript.
Critical Skills:
Experience working in modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries and a good understanding of reactive and component-driven architecture.
Familiarity with Vite or similar modern build tools, and an understanding of their role in improving development workflow and performance.
Knowledge of Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Familiarity of Java API’s is a huge plus.
Additional / Desired Skills:
A keen problem-solver with strong technical and analysis skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Have good knowledge of agile best practices and methodologies.
2 years of Core Java programming experience in building server side API for real time enterprise wide applications
Firm understanding of Core Java APIs, including collections, multi-threading.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $110,000.00 - $130,000.00
