As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for supporting our LSS obsolescence program. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of mitigating obsolescence concerns and deliver high-quality customer migration strategies. Your expertise in software engineering principles, methodologies, and understanding of software component relationships will contribute to the overall productivity and effectiveness of the software engineering function.
You will report directly to our LSS Obsolescence Engineering Supervisor, and you'll work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the design and execution of LSS obsolescence and product lifecycle management, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consult on aftermarket obsolescence migration strategies and cross-functionally work with C&E, software OM, and Sales to deliver these strategies.
- Drive interdepartmental continuous improvement initiatives as part of a continuous feedback loop.
- Provide direction to customers on the serviceability of their software, occasionally during active downtime events/emergencies.
- Research and become familiar with all legacy software offerings.
- Upgrade legacy software systems to the latest standards (performance, safety, reliability).
- Participate in field execution of aftermarket services projects.
- Support other LSS engineering functions, specifically obsolescence planning, as required.
- Manage software roadmap across customer base.
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in the material handling industry.
- Strong organizational skills and exposure to project/program management functions.
- Strong knowledge of software principles and methodologies.
