The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Technical Support Manager 1 position located at ourLinthicum, MD facility. The Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) is located just outside of Baltimore, MD - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production as well as emerging programs. We have over 21,000 square feet of Class 100 wafer fabrication cleanroom that supports variants of Si; SiGe; GaAs; SiC.
Within the Northrop Grumman's Chief Information Office (CIO) we support the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) and the 100+ applications and systems used by the engineering and manufacturing teams. The CIO is an integral part of the foundry organization, interfacing with multiple other foundry groups on a daily basis. The Technical Support Manager 1 will manage a team of multiple programs and efforts and will report directly to the Information Technology Infrastructure Engineering Manager 2.

Essential Functions:
• Lead a team of Systems Administrators performing direct work on Information Systems and other computer models.
• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
• Use good judgement to pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work closely with technicians, engineers, and management to ensure the computer systems and software stays in a high state of readiness.
• Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the software products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems.
• Staff planning and administration including workload forecasts Mentoring and career development
• Performance Reviews and Engagement
• Leadership through effective reuse and process improvement
• Working in an Agile environment and knowledge of Agile principles and practices
• Ensuring help desk personnel have tools and training needed to be autonomous
• Help facilitate the evolving needs of a microelectronics manufacturing facility
• Interact with internal customers as required
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with 5 years' of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3 years' of relevant experience
• Experience with multiple tools and environments (confluence, Jira, Linux and Windows)
• Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Windows Active Directory, VMware processes and Configuration Management as it pertains to software/hardware management
• Exceptional leadership skills and qualities to coordinate collaboration across different Software, Engineering, Government, and contractor teams
• Candidate must have strong communication skills
• Experience with management of teams (direct or indirect)
• Demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Demonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members
• US Citizenship required
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven interaction in a distributed team environment
• Strong background of the Kanban Review Boards, Agile or equivalent
• Demonstrate strong team building/collaboration skills
• Prior extensive experience with VMWare, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Previous experience leading a team of 5-8 employees with a record of on-time performance
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Previous experience managing a distributed software or IT team as afunctional manager with direct reports
Salary Range: $112,600 - $169,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
